📅 31 October 2025 – International Scientific Conference on the State Plane Coordinate System Successfully Held!
The South-East European Research Institute on Geo Sciences (Geo-SEE Institute), as the main organizer, successfully held the international scientific conference “Towards a State Plane Coordinate System: Scientific Approaches and Practical Challenges” on 31 October 2025 in Skopje, within the framework of the national project “State Plane Coordinate Reference System of the Republic of North Macedonia (SCRS)”. https://www.scrsproject.mk/p/international-conference.html
The conference was hosted by the Mother Teresa University in Skopje, under the umbrella of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), with co-organization and strong support from the Bulgarian Cartographic Association, Croatian Society of Cartography, Kosovo Association of Surveyors, European Group of Surveyors, and the Macedonian Chamber of Trade Surveying Companies. The event was sponsored by Alb Matrix Group (Geo Sensors) from Albania and FARO Europe.
Distinguished presenters from North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Greece, Türkiye, Croatia, Germany, and the Netherlands shared their scientific findings and practical experiences related to state plane coordinate reference systems.
The hybrid event attracted wide participation from experts, researchers, and institutions working toward harmonizing national geospatial systems with European standards. In total, 67 participants attended in person, while 91 joined online, reflecting strong regional and international engagement in this important field.
